You’ve just made the most important decision of your life — choosing to follow Jesus Christ.

When you placed your faith in Him, you were born again — a brand new creation!

Just as you have a physical birthday, this is your spiritual birthday — the day you began walking with God.

Now you may be asking:
“What do I do next?”

Here are some simple steps to help you grow in your new relationship with Jesus:

1. Tell Someone

Good news is meant to be shared!

When you met Jesus, your life was changed — and others need to hear your story. Just like Andrew ran to tell his brother about Jesus (John 1:40–42), you can share what He’s done in your life.

Your story — your testimony — is powerful. It includes:

What your life was like before Jesus
How you came to know Him
What God is doing in your life now

Take a moment to write it down and share it. You never know who your story will inspire.

2. Be Baptized

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith — showing outwardly what God has done inwardly.
It symbolizes being buried with Christ and raised to new life (Romans 6:3–4).

If you’ve trusted in Jesus and understand what baptism means, take this next step in obedience. It’s your way of saying, “I belong to Jesus!”

3. Get Connected to a Church Family

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. You need a community — a spiritual family — to worship, grow, and serve with.
The church is where you’ll learn God’s Word, find encouragement, and build lasting friendships.

Be faithful in attending, learning, and participating — God designed you to be part of His body!

4. Join a Small Group or Bible Study

Growth happens best in community. Small Groups are where faith becomes family — where you can talk about God’s Word, pray together, and encourage one another.

5. Serve Others

Jesus came “not to be served, but to serve” (Matthew 20:28).
You have gifts and talents God can use to bless others. Find a place to serve — in your church, community, or even through Jesus Says Ministry’s outreach efforts.

When you serve, you grow — and you reflect the heart of Christ.

6. Read God’s Word Daily

The Bible is God’s living Word. It will teach, correct, and guide you (2 Timothy 3:16).
Start small — read a little each day and think about what it means. Try the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) to learn directly from Jesus’ life and teachings.

You can read online at BibleGateway.com, Hallow.com or YouVersion.com.
Mark verses that speak to your heart — God is talking to you through them!

7. Talk to God Every Day

Prayer is simply a conversation with God. You don’t need fancy words — just speak from your heart.
Thank Him, ask for guidance, and share what’s on your mind.

Even Jesus took time to pray (Mark 1:35). If He needed that connection, so do we.
Make prayer a daily habit — it’s how you grow closer to your Heavenly Father.

8. Read God’s Word Daily

Let your life reflect your new faith. Let others see Jesus in your words, actions, and choices.
He’s not just your Savior — He’s your Lord and Leader. Surrendering to Him brings peace and direction that the world can’t offer.
Remember, you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Shine brightly for Him!

Every sign is a message of hope. Every word of Jesus has the power to change a life — just like He changed yours.
